Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager, Deal Execution, is responsible for getting commercial deals done by overseeing the strategic direction, operations, and performance of the Deal Execution team and large-scale commercial deals. Accountability across risk, compliance, reporting, governance & stakeholder management sit with this senior opportunity.
Specific responsibilities include -
- Lead, coach, develop and mentor the Deal Execution team
- Partner and negotiate with development proponents, to deliver large scale private sector led infrastructure deals
- Identify, detail, advance, and execute the direct investment of funds into strong return on investment opportunities as outlined in the Invest Gold Coast Investment Policy.
- Work with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to cultivate an exceptional organisational culture.
- Influence Council’s capital works programs through sound proposals.
You will possess extensive experience in developing and executing major infrastructure deals, and experience in funds management including property acquisitions and private equity investments that align with growing the Gold Coast’s strategic economic sectors. Understanding of government environments including local government interests and processes is advantageous, together with sound knowledge of the city’s strategic economic sectors.
You will be a key contributor to and champion, a values-based leadership approach which delivers a productive, safe and collaborative work environment, promoting and modelling high standards of conduct, performance and behaviour. You will possess exceptional
leadership skills, have a strong sense of judgement and astute decision-making skills along with strong negotiation and communications skillsets, which will be imperative to the success of this role.
